Duke of Kent Court 05/08/2017

The Royal Masonic  Benevolent Institution (RMBI) provides care for older Freemasons and their dependants. In the West Kent Province, we are privileged to have an RMBI home at Chislehurst, the Prince George, Duke of Kent Court.

The Association of Friends does a marvellous job in raising funds and generally helping with the running of the home. As part of that effort, the Friends invite a Lodge to run the coffee morning for residents and visitors on the first Saturday of each month.

For several years now, Rivermead Lodge has helped run an annual coffee morning. This year (2017), the Lodge sponsored the coffee morning on 5 August. The Lodge was represented by WBro's Michael Herschell, Paul Wheeler, Lloyd Osborne and Ian Gallehawk and Bro david Walker (our newest member!), who did their best to make the morning more enjoyable for the residents. WBro Paul can be seen in the picture below  as the Lodge members met and conversed with the residents, making the morning a happy event for all concerned .

The trolley shown below displays the array of raffle prizes donated by the Lodge to ensure that the morning was both enjoyable and profitable. All prizes were donated by Rivermead Lodge.

With raffle tickets provided to all residents, everyone enjoyed the morning. The members of the Lodge were warmly thanked for their ongoing sponsorship of the coffee morning. Everybody present enjoyed this small, social gathering. The morning ended and everyone left looking forward to enjoying a bright, summer weekend, vowing to return again next year!
